It’s officially winter in Chicago. Well, technically the first day of winter is December 21, however if you live in Chicago you know when winter really strikes.
Today is that day.
It’s the first day you wake up, get ready, walk outside for your daily commute and mother nature slaps you right in the face and literally knocks the wind out of you.
Your teeth hurt, as they grip onto your lips for safety and your knuckles are so cold that they burn and they become paralyzed when you take your mittens off to pay for your transit card. And finally, your legs, no matter how much you try to cover them, sting like 400 bubble bees somehow caught lost inside your trousers.
That’s today folks, it’s -25 degrees and it feels awful. But, I love it.

Talk about office space, zam! Digital wallpaper, can this be true? Can I live my dream as a Jem rockstar once and for all? I think so!
So, I’ve been following Gregor Hofbauer from Strukt for awhile now and if you haven’t heard of them you absolutely need to check their work out. boom! pow! wow! They are awesome. Their sweet spot is their media installation (motion, touchscreen, ambient intelligence) but they have a bunch of other rad capabilities. I’m hooked on this the Digital Wallpaper they created for the Buro Hirzberger office space in Vienna.
Hofbauer on the project, “My fellow co-workers at Strukt Design Studio strukt.com came up with this digital wallpaper, using 2 projectors to map an entire wall and using VVVV to do the deskewing and to generate the content.”
